Detailed itinerary for 5-days gorilla and chimpanzee tracking in Rwanda
Day 1: Kigali airport transfer
Upon your arrival at the airport, meet our guide/driver. Thereafter, transfer to the Kigali Serena Hotel or Classic Hotel for dinner and overnight. If your arrival is in time, take a Kigali city tour to various historical sites and cultural craft shops, local markets in Kigali city, and the genocide memorial. Meal plan: H/B
Day 2: Akagera National Park
After your breakfast at your hotel of residence, meet our guide and set off on a scenic drive to Akagera National Park. Have lunch at Akagera Game Lodge. After lunch, go for afternoon game drives where you will encounter wildlife like elephants, zebras, lions, leopards, and buffalo. Day 3: Ruhengeri and Local Culture
After breakfast, we depart to Ruhengeri and visit community-based activities and learn to produce banana and sorghum beer, acquire ethnobotany skills, make your own beautiful handicrafts out of banana leaves, experience traditional dancing, drumming, and singing, and learn how to make a traditional dish together with a local family. Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
