Detailed itinerary for affordable 3 days Murchison Falls safari in Uganda.

Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Murchison Falls with Rhino tracking stopover.

After your early morning breakfast, the driver will pick you up to begin your journey at about 6:00 a.m. You will use the Kampala-Masindi route, branching off in Nakasongola to the Ziwa rhino sanctuary, where you will track the most endangered animal species, the white rhinos. After lunch, embark on your journey to Murchison Falls, using the southern gate. Check into your booked safari lodge upon your arrival and get some refreshments as you wait for your evening game drive. Meal plan: lunch and dinner.

Day 2: Morning game drive and launch cruise and visit top of falls

Wake up to a delicious breakfast and set out for an early morning game drive—a good chance to see different animal species as they get up to start the day. Return to your lodge and freshen up if you like as you wait for lunch. Later, you will go for a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to view the bottom of the falls, with many great settings like hippos, Nile crocodiles, and aquatic birds.

At the bottom of the falls, you will get off the boat, take pictures, and begin the hike to the top of the falls. It’s not an easy one, but the reward is evident with the panoramic view of the falls from atop. When you get to the top of the falls, the driver or guide will be waiting for you and will give you some time to catch your breath before transferring you back to your safari lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: full board.

Day 3: Travel back to Kampala with stopover at Karuma Falls

After breakfast, make sure you have all your stuff together and check out of the safari lodge, ready to start your journey back to Kampala, exiting the park using the northern gate. Get a few minutes viewing of Karuma falls on the way and continue with your journey back to Kampala with a lunch stop at Kabalega dinners and then continue to Kampala to be dropped off at any of your desired locations.

 Verified Amazing safari
I went on the 2 day safari to Murchison Falls with the boat trip on the Nile with my husband. Everything from the communication before the trip began to getting dropped off was amazing. The guides Patricia and Patrick really made the whole trip great. Both were very thoughtful and accommodating the whole 2 days. Patrick’s knowledge on the game drives was amazing and he made sure we saw as much wildlife as we could in the short time we booked for. The accommodation was fantastic as well. They provided a delicious meal and at night and the morning there were elephants eating and sleeping next to our lodge. One of the staff at the accommodation even came and got us and let us see the elephant asleep. The falls were also incredible to see both from the boat and the top of them. All the restaurants we stopped at for food was amazing as well. It was really the highlight of our holiday in Uganda. You get to see so much in the 2 days, I only wish I had booked longer. We’re already planning our next trip and would definitely recommend Simba expeditions to anyone considering tours or safari in Uganda!

 Verified Amazing time with lots of baby animals
We had an amazing time on our two day safari in Mburo Lake National Park. Adam was our driver/guide and he was very knowledgeable about all the animals and the park. It is a long day of driving both to and from Kampala as it is about 5 hours each way, but very worth it to see the fun animals. Unfortunately there are very few predators in the park so we were unable to see any leopards, however, we saw many baby animals including giraffes, baboons, hippos and zebras. Our stay at the eagle's nest was wonderful with yummy food and great views. During our time parts of the grass were being burned so there was some smoke and burnt grassy areas, but it is necessary to maintain the health of the grasslands. So maybe if you can avoid August, that would be better. All in all a great trip. Can recommend as a weekend activity!

Paddy & Patricia were absolutely fantastic looking after me on this luxury safari experience. The care for the customer is excellent with this company. Paddy was an absolute gent, great rapport with every company and stop we had during the trip. He looked out for me having an eggless breakfast, nothing was trouble for the team. So relaxing and fun. We had an amazing experience traveling with Simba African Expeditions for our 5 day trip in Rwanda. Patricia answered very efficiently to all our requests and helped us customize the trip to our liking. During our trip Tonny was a great guide. He was patient, drove responsibly and made arrangements with all our activities so they went smoothly, we felt very well taken care of! During our trip we spent our time around Nyungwe national park and lake Kivu. The scenery was beautiful and with our itinerary we got to both have an active holiday with chimpanzee trekking, hiking and kayaking, as well as calmer activities like visiting a coffee plantation. We had a great 1 day safari to Lake Mburo. We saw SO many zebras,giraffes, and hippos; among other animals. We stopped at the equator for a photo and a quick demonstration. Ashiraf our safari guide was very nice and efficient. Patricia was very helpful and quick with email and whatsapp communication. It was a little a little stressful trying to get back to make our flight(NOT OUR DRIVERS FAULT, UG traffice is VERY UNPREDICTABLE!) Overall a great day trip and i recommend!
