2-days Akagera Wildlife Safari is in Akagera National Park, which lies in the eastern part of Rwanda near the Tanzanian border. It gets its name from the Kagera River, also known as the Akagera River, which flows along its eastern boundary, feeding into Lake Ihema and several smaller lakes. Home of the Rwanda Big Five, which includes the lion, African elephant, rhino, cape buffalo, leopard, and many other animals like giraffe, zebra, and hyena, to mention but a few.

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park with afternoon boat cruises

Early morning, after breakfast, transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park, check into your reserved lodge, have lunch, and head out for an afternoon game drive at Lake Ihema with a chance of seeing hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and lots of birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: lunch and dinner

Day 2: Morning game drive in Akagera Park and later transfer to Kigali

Have breakfast, and later, Simba Africa Expeditions’ driver/guide will transfer you to the park for a game drive with the opportunity of seeing the early morning risers looking for breakfast; these include Savannah elephants, Cape buffaloes, rhinos, lions, zebra, leopard, hyena, giraffe, antelope, and many others. Later on, transfer to Kigali town and be dropped off at your desired destination.
