Chimpanzee tracking Kibale Uganda, the National Park is located in western Uganda; 795 kilometers2 in size forming a continuous forest with Queen Elizabeth National Park. Known as a home of Chimpanzees but also harbor’s other primates like the red-tailed colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey. It stands 1590 meters above sea level. Northern Kibale is also the wettest area covered in swamps and receives a mean annual rainfall of up to 1700 mm from March to May and September to November.

Detailed itinerary for 3 days Chimpanzee tracking Kibale

Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Kibale National Park

Our driver/guide will pick you up from the hotel/place of residence after breakfast at 7:00 am and transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park at lunchtime. Check in to your reserved safari lodge, refresh and have lunch. After lunch goes for a hike at lake Nkuruba to view the crater Lake plus the beautiful scenery later return to the safari lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: lunch and dinner.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Nature walk

After early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park offices for a briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. After the briefing, you will go to the starting point by 8:00 am to start the trekking into the forest. Getting to know how chimpanzee interacts and have photos for memories. Later return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch head for an evening, nature walk in Bigodi swamp to spot more wildlife including birds, and monkeys later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Breakfast lunch and dinner.

Day 3: Transfer from Kibale to Kampala

Have breakfast, then you will check out of the park back to Kampala while viewing the beautiful scenery in a cool environment. Lunch en route and be dropped at your desired destination. Meal plan: Breakfast and lunch
